Ok, this really is the last of this year’s award nominations – I promise!

Very pleased to announce that our work for Reckitt-Benckiser/Zanussi on the Stop Washing Up! Campaign has been shortlisted today for both Best Integrated Campaign and Best Use of Video in the upcoming Social Buzz Awards. We’ve already featured this campaign on the blog before, so see here for more information: http://ravecommunications.posterous.com/rave-gets-social-shortlisted-for-national-soc

Time to dust off the tux!

Throughout 2011, we’ve been working with premium home appliance brand AEG to support Grassroots Rugby in the UK, by offering schools and rugby clubs all over the UK a chance to win 1 of 50 Ultimate Kit and Laundry packages. The chosen 50 have each won 22 top-of-the-range Samurai Sportswear kits as well as an AEG washing machine and tumble dryer to ensure their kits maintain their pristine condition – no matter how muddy they get on the pitch!

The season has begun and we’re starting to see the teams uploading photos of themselves to www.facebook.com/aeg  Each of the 50 teams will now be competing against each other to win a range of prizes, including a chance to train with the England rugby team. To help celebrate Social Media Week, Nokia and 1000 Heads have partnered to build a unique vending machine that’s activated by foursquare checkins. It dispenses free American candy bars, Nokia accessories and even a few Nokia phones, and all users have to do to collect a prize is check in at the machine’s foursquare venue.

    Clever stuff.

Great piece of work from Hotels.com, who teamed up with extreme athlete and stuntman JT Holmes in order to highlight their high-speed mobile booking application, which allows users to book rooms at their network of almost 140,000 worldwide hotels.

Simple (in theory at least!) and there can be no doubting the key message.

The latest TV spot from T-Mobile shows what happened when thousands of motorists across Britain, got a surprise they didn't expect.  Lovely feelgood work from Saatchi & Saatchi.

Sometimes the most effective work is the simplest work. Loving these illustrations from Leo Burnett, Delhi, for Batman and Spiderman Happy Meals, which make clever use of the famous golden arches.

Throughout the summer, CBS Outdoor in association with Campaign laid down a challenge to creatives everywhere:  To show off their skills with some brilliant bus advertising designs in order to win both a media campaign and shopping vouchers for themselves. The brief was to create great bus ads for a national or regional advertiser, and more than 650 were entered. They needed to deliver real impact on the street, showing how the advertiser can harness the power of bus to grab the attention, spark conversations, and stick in the mind. Here are just a few of our favourites:

Crimestoppers, Knife Crime: Family Advertising (Regional shortlist)

Lose Weight, Barking & Dagenham NHS: Wunderman (Regional longlist)

Compassion in World Farming: Elvis Communications (National winner)

Changing Faces: DDB London (National longlist)

B&Q: McCann Erickson London (National shortlist)

Mini – Williams Group: 438 Marketing (Regional winner)

    Creamlogo

Without wishing to turn this blog into just a haven for blathering on about award nominations, we recently received a couple more nods – this time from the Cream Awards judging panel.

Our viral for the Stop Washing Up campaign is up for Best Viral Marketing, while our work for Weymouth College is up for Best Use of Illustration. Both have previously featured on the blog, so you can read about them via the following links:

    Viral: http://ravecommunications.posterous.com/rave-gets-social-shortlisted-for-national-soc

    Illustration: http://ravecommunications.posterous.com/weymouth-college-chooses-a-future-with-rave

I think that’s pretty much it for award nominations for the year…but if any more crop then you be sure we’ll be shouting about it. As well as shouting whether we win or lose of course!  See you on the dancefloor with spilled drink down shirt and a stolen award in hand.
